Graphics for Architecture: Archigrafika

Published by Visual Profile Books, Graphics for Architecture: Archigrafika looks at decades of work by Michael Gerbino and the creative team that currently forms Archigrafika New York.

Graphics for Architecture presents a compelling case for the significance of architectural graphics. No matter how carefully planned and designed our buildings, interior spaces and communities are, we are lost in them without architectural graphics to guide us. In fact, the most effective graphics are so closely associated with their environments that they become integral components. Readers will be surprised by the countless ways Archigrafika uses graphic design to create unique, attractive and vital settings for its clients around the world.

20 Years of Calendars:
Street Scenes and People

Published by Visual Profile Books, 20 Years of Calendars: Street Scenes and People showcases two decades of photographs by Archigrafika’s creative director, Michael Gerbino that were presented in the firm’s annual calendar.

A native New Yorker, Gerbino designed the earliest calendars as a tribute to his love of the city where he was born and raised. Small businesses―many of which are now shuttered―are carefully recorded, as well as the people passing by; storefronts mix with poignant portraits of strangers. Even as Gerbino moves beyond New York, beginning with 2007’s visit to the Dominican Republic, his photography maintains his fascination with the beauty of everyday life and the dignity of the people featured in his work. Later years see his journeys to London, Paris, and various cities in Italy―a particularly meaningful and personal project, as he explores the hometowns of his grandparents.
